Today, I was in a minor car accident. I have been in car accidents in the past, but this one was a little different. All I can think about is how much damage might have been done to my neck. I have heard from many students that studies show that a collision as slow as 5 mph can cause whiplash injury. This commonly leads sprain/strain injury, headaches and neck pain. I was going about 45 when I was hit this morning. Yikes. Often, the signs don’t show up until a day or two after the accident because of adrenaline.
So far, I would say I am feeling well despite the accident, but maybe sometimes ignorance is bliss. I hope some care on Monday will get my spine back in shape.
I waited about half an hour for the police to respond, so that gave me plenty of time to recommend Sherman College to the woman that collided with me. I am hopeful she will heed my advice and check out Sherman’s clinic. That is the reason you practice explaining chiropractic for an elevator speech.
