Considering the mild winter Spartanburg had last year, I had my expectations set low for seeing snow this season. However, it has turned out there is more snow than anyone knows what to do with. This has allowed for many rare events such as making true snow cream as well as a true snowman.
Currently the snow is perfect for snowman building. It is really heavy and wet. It is much better than the light, fluffy snow of the last snow storm. It is good for snowballs as well as rolling into a snow man. So, between snowball fighting, watching Rachel snowboard down a 2 ft hill, and enjoying the bliss of a day off school we managed to make the biggest snowman of the neighborhood.
Our snowman was equipped with grill skewers for arms, a carrot for a nose, and bottle top eyes. “She” also has a hula skirt made from branches (in the hopes it will warm up soon).
Overall, it has been a fun week away from school, but we need to get back to work. Boards are around the corner.
