Yet, what is seen and judged from the patients’ perspective is simply the delivery of an adjustment. Perhaps it is even simpler than this. Perhaps all a patient may be aware of is whether or not they are “getting better.” And so, the delivery of care is what brings me to the point of this writing.
For all the study, time and money that a chiropractic student puts into their learning there is one thing in the end that is most important. It’s not in the grades, nor in the honors, the reward for volunteer hours, how many patients we see, how quickly we “process” patients or how gracefully we handle the stresses and strains. It’s all really in the end product; it’s in our patient care.
Now that I am able to see the end product of all our work in school, I can easily say, “Yes, I am grateful” for where I am. I can now witness the benefits that chiropractic care creates when the power is “turned on!” It’s an amazing thing to witness and it makes all the hard work worthwhile!
