Goodness! It’s been a while since I posted! And I just realized it, perhaps because I have just caught up with myself.
I’ve been a bit busy the last two quarters…putting on my super hero cape and working on making it through Pre-Clinic and then Student Clinic. Well, that’s what it feels like to me :) . And yes! I did it! This upcoming quarter I will be an Intern in Outpatient Clinic. That too will bring amazing opportunities.
Mind you, every chiropractic student works hard through their many classes awaiting the momentous culmination of Pre-Clinic and Student Clinic. It is the turning point in which the student goes from the study of - to the application of - the principles of chiropractic. The student literally takes the knowledge studied and expresses it in the force of the adjustment. Truly a big moment!
And is it all worth it? Is the application of chiropractic worth the study of anatomy, biochemistry, neuroanatomy, philosophy, pathology and more? Absolutely!
Now, as interns, we can focus on participating in the saving of lives! That is, the healing of the individual which will, in no small part, transform into the healing of the planet! Yes, of course I think big! As B.J. Palmer said, “We never know how far reaching something we may think, say or do, today, will affect the lives of millions tomorrow.”
I stand on the threshold of something that took years of work to come to. It is a turning point in my life. I think I can only catch the least glimmer of what it will become for me…and others. I am grateful for the gift, I am grateful to express it and to be a part of the healing of others.
