Using Social Media at work… I started with LinkedIN and Classmates looking for Sherman graduates to connect to. Then I joined Facebook and Twitter. As I use these tools I think about their value to a chiropractic practice and how our alumni can use them to share and promote chiropractic philosophy, health ideas and their practice. It can sometimes feel like too much, but there are strategies to make it work for you in a business/practice building sense.
If joining professional and social media networks or learning how to use them to benefit your chiropractic practice was a resolution of yours, did you know that there are weblogs to help you achieve faster results along the way? I have been following one this past year to learn how to more effectively use LinkedIN to connect with Sherman and Pennsylvania alumni and help them stay connected to Sherman and each other.
Jason Alba writes a blog called I’m on LinkedIN Now What? http://imonlinkedinnowwhat.com/
Not only do I love the title, I love the tips and nuggets of information that help me. I enjoy reading about features of the LinkedIN network that include a review of their usefulness. When LinkedIN adds a feature or tweaks one, I can count on Jason to play with it, use it, analyze it, give his opinion and most importantly to me… explain how and why to use it. The value here is it saves me a lot of time. It helps me know where to place my focus in regard to the work that I do. For instance, when LinkedIN added an interface with Twitter, I didn't know if it would behove me to utilize it. I didn't really understand it. Jason concisely explained the ramifications of using it and how to enable it discriminately. Now that’s information I appreciate!
Now that I’m more productive on Facebook and LinkedIN, I’m going to learn more about using Twitter this year. Anyone know of a good blog or website that will help?
