Sherman's Biggest Losers Revealed

All of the sacrifices paid off. I'm proud to say that I am a member of the winning team in the Sherman's Biggest Loser compeition. We all worked hard and became the lesser (in weight) for it.

Here is a picture of me, Patti and and Susan. We were named the biggest losers yesterday afternoon during a celebratory pizza lunch (oh well!) after the final weigh in of all the participants.  It was a close competition and lots of fun to weigh in every week with the other 21 participants.

And good news! The competition was of interest to the local newspaper so the college got good, positive exposure. Read the article in today's Spartanburg Herald Journal. Sherman Losers step up for final exam 

Sherman's Biggest Losers

This is the final week in the Sherman employees biggest loser competition. Next Tuesday we have our final weigh in and wow! is it close! Any team can win this. It's anyone's bet who will pull this out. Stay tuned for the results. 

To illustrate how close it is, a few weeks ago my team (Susan, Patti and I) was tied for first place. Then the next week we slipped. I, for one, gained instead of losing. Yikes! One pound either way has a big impact on the team weight loss percentage. Our gains knocked us out of first place. Now we are back in the running.

I'm very glad I joined in this friendly competition. All of the ladies and men in the contest have been very supportive of each other and offer encouragement on down days and high fives on good days. It's been a great way to keep focused on my own weight loss while sharing the success of others. I appaud all 22 participants.

Chiropractic Profession National Board Exams This Weekend

It's been a bit quiet on campus this week. About half of our students are knuckling down... putting full focus on studying for the National Boards coming up this weekend. They and all the rest are also preparing for final exams next week. Wow! a one-two punch! But they can handlle it!

Sherman's Brett Wharton Interviewed

This is a follow up to an earlier post about Sherman students participating in the local College Town Community Service Initiative (CSI). The event was last Saturday and one of our Sherman students, Brett Wharton, was interviewed by the newspaper. He said that he loves Spartanburg and was happy to represent Sherman at this event.
