Upper Cervical Chiropractic on The Doctors

While I was searching on YouTube for the Muscle Palpation Video mentioned in my last blog entry I came across this. A network television program called The Doctors featured a segment on Upper Cervical Chiropractic in November. It’s a daytime program that has hip, young doctors talking about various aspects of health care with guest doctors in many different disciplines. Muscle Palpation Tutorial on YouTube

Sherman College faculty member Mitzi Schwartzbauer, D.C. created a Cervical Muscle Palpation Tutorial for Sherman College students. It is available through the online video sharing and viewing medium called YouTube and alumni are welcome to view it. I liked how they drew the muscles in color on the live model. See what you think. I imagine this will be very helpful to students of chiropractic.

YouTube.com is fun to explore. You can search for video topics. If you haven’t done it before try searches like “Sherman College” or “chiropractic” to see what’s out there on the internet with these titles or topics. Have fun exploring and be sure to send me the link to any interesting videos!

A New Year at Sherman College

November and December are traditionally busy months in the Alumni and Institutional Advancement offices. We are busy updating addresses and phone numbers for the Online Alumni Directory and striving to meet fund-raising goals set months ago.

I'm delighted to say we had a great year in regard to fund raising and I'll blog about that when we "close out the year" next week. Even in this down economy plenty of our alumni are still doing well and giving back to the college. I applaud every one of them for helping the college celebrate its 35th year anniversary.

For now I'll say that many more alumni donated to the college this year as compared to last year. We're waiting for all the mail that could possibly be postmarked from December 2008 to make its way to our offices so that we can finalize and tally the amounts.  So more about that to come.

It's a new year and a new quarter at the college. We enrolled 16 students with two being children of alumni. Jason Swan is the son of Stuart Swan '81, and Josh Michael is the step-son of David Marraccini, '78. We are happy to have them and all of the new class on campus and appreciate that they selected Sherman College as the place to call their chiropractic home.

With the new year comes a different group that will be celebrating reunions. Graduates of 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999 and 2004 are invited to reunite with former classmates on campus during Lyceum Homecoming in May.
