Wow, this year's Lyceum was one for the record books. Lyceum is a Greek word meaning festival of knowledge. Sherman's Lyceum functions as our largest continuing education event and our homecoming. It is always a good time. Some particular milestones and memories:
-Giving my last tour to prospective students, and running the tour long in keeping with tradition.
-Learning that I will share the stage at graduation with Dr. Susan Newlin as she receives an honorary Doctorate of Chiropractic Humanities for her unparalleled service to Sherman College and to the entire Chiropractic profession.
-Rocking out to the Vitalistics, a band composed of a faculty case doc and students.
-Spending more time volunteering than I intended, and loving it.
-Being humbled by the words of parents of prospective students that went on the tour. One DC mom told me her daughter said "Now I understand what you do for people. I had no idea." She thank me and I was grateful for the opportunity.
-Dancing the night away at the best Lyceum Ball in memory, with high hopes for next year.
-and finally, seeing dear friends smile and support one another. There were more smiles this year than I have ever seen.
I am looking forward to next year's Lyceum and this years International Research and Philosophy Symposium (Fall Lyceum).
