Summer 2007 Bagel Fest

Yesterday was Bagel Fest, our quarterly rite of passage for the incoming class, and an introduction of them to the whole student body.  We had a great time!

I was give the honor of presenting a beautiful bust of B.J. Palmer to Dr. Bill Decken, D.C., Sherman College graduate and faculty member, for his referral of 1st quarter student Zack Hughes.

Bagel Fest also includes a Pinning Ceremony for those students who are receiving their nametags for their internship in the Health Center

Enjoy the pictures of Bagel Fest.

Reception for Thom Gelardi, D.C.

I attended a reception yesterday honoring Thom Gelardi, D.C. for his service as Interim President to Sherman College.  Dr. Gelardi will be passing the presidency to Jon Schwartzbauer, D.C. on August 13, just a few short weeks away, but in the meantime, Dr. Gelardi will be traveling to Alaska on the Federation of Straight Chiropractors and Organizations (FSCO) Chiro Cruise, a continuing education events sponsored by FSCO and Sherman College!

Here are a few photos from the reception:

Another new update:  Whether you attended our Lyceum Career Day, or had to miss it this year, I wanted to let you know that we have designed a slide show with some photos from the weekend that I thought you might like to see.

Check out our Career Day page here.  I think it looks pretty cool, and now that I know how to do it, stay tuned for lots more slide shows!!

First Installment

First up for some of the web updates I mentioned earlier....new student profiles!  I am very excited to say that we have added a few new students to the Student Profile Page- take some time to check them out.  I have a few more to add in the next few weeks.  And let me know if you are interested in chatting with any of these students- maybe there is someone from your home state, or in a similar life situation who can help you with the decision to attend chiropractic college or can answer some of your questions.

Let me know what you think!

Lots of new things in the works!

We have been brainstorming about the website a lot lately in Admissions and Public Relations, and there are a few new things that will be going up on the site in the next few weeks, so stay tuned!  I will let you know when they are up, but until then....here is a picture of me and Alison Kimball, our Admission Office Coodinator, manning the Admissions Table at Lyceum this year, in our brand-new matching polo shirts!

If you have ever called the Admission Office here, you might have spoken with Alison.  She answers the main line, and, among a lot of other duties, is responsible for arranging and coordinating our campus visits and tours.  She makes the hotel arrangements and lines up student tour guide to conduct the tour itself.   We would love to have you come and visit the campus- sign up for a tour here, and you can meet Alison while you are here!!

Getting back into the swing of things around here!

You may have noticed that our blogs have been a little quiet lately.  With the three week break, many of our bloggers were taking a little break at home, or at the beach!  But, we are all back now, and the blogs should pick up, hopefully!

Take a quick look at Nate's blog....he has two new posts up!

If you have any ideas for what you might like to read about here at Sherman, drop me a quick email and I can ask the bloggers to address your topic!
