So I'm a Clemson fan, right. But I am an even bigger small school fan. I have always attended small schools; that is one of the allures of Sherman College. I love being able to know everyone at the school, and make extremely meaningful relationships with the faculty and staff. On to my point...
This past Saturday, I witnessed the awesomeness (is that even a word?) of the SC State band, the Marching 101. They know how to put on a show. Their announcer is a great introducer & excitement builder, the band could move and play, and their dancers were hard not to watch. Oh yea, and their dancers were named "The Champagne Dancers".
Their show was based on the greatness of America and the tragedies we have faced recently. To end their show (to which I am still getting chills) some members of their ROTC carried an enormous American flag banner over the entire band. As a military member, I can't help but say it brought a few tears to my eyes. From the Clemson fans, this band got an entire standing ovation, and were even applauded as they marched to their buses. This band is strong, and apparently loved by everyone. I was so impressed. I love to see small schools being recognized.
Keep it up 101! You have gained another fan!!

Jaime,
You are SOOO right about the SC State Marching 101 they are an awesome band! I have seen them at a number of events when I was in Columbia and I attended their homecoming a few years ago. What a sight and sound show!!! I went to USC and though I support the Gamecocks their band can sure learn a few things from SC State!!
