I'm Back

Okay, so this may be a short post. But it should be followed later by more information. Last night I got back to the states from the Dominican Republic. I had a very humbling experience. We saw the poorest places on earth, and yet experienced such joy from the people there. The rariety of electricity and running water on our trip made our experience more rewarding. We only slightly walked in these people's footsteps.

Their lives are built on community, and are not distracted by all the addictions we have. In that instance, they are more blessed. I pray I take something from this trip to change my need for all my great addictions (tv, fast food, AC, etc). Anyway, more to come later. I definitely need some rest.

Pump It Up

Well, yesterday Addison and I went to the best place for kids for $5... Pump It Up! This place is great! Addison loves to play there, and it's so cheap. They open the rooms up on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 - 11:30 am...perfect amount of time for my two-year-old.

I forgot to take my camera for pictures. But then again, I don't think I would have time to do so. Addison played hard the entire time...and mommy had to play with her as well. I can't say I'm not sore today; I definitely am feeling my age. Anyway, here's a photo from their website. I encourage anyone with a child (especially 5 and under) to take advantage of those play times; they separate the kids by age, so your little one doesn't get trampled...and can play as much as they want, without big kids taking over.

Day 1: the ZOO (& Gattitown)

So Jaime, it's your first day of your summer break. What are you gonna do? Go to the ZOO!

Signs of Summer...

Some things really grab my attention that summer is here. One is this ridiculous heat, and another is more time spent with my daughter (as well as other things).

Check out Addison's new creation. This consists of a tomato plant, Lima beans (from a Bible school lesson), and a pretty sunflower plant. She and Grandmomma F worked on this project Thursday night. Isn't the flamingo SO Addi? I just see this crazy thing & think how well it suits her . The plant consists of two tomatoes at this point. We'll keep you posted with it's progress.
