Dr. Fehl

Fehl_bill_webSo, we have been asked to blog about one of our favorite professors. And at this time, I have quite a diverse group of professors surrounding me. If one had to stand out in my mind, it would be Dr. Bill Fehl.

Dr. Fehl (pronounced "feel") teaches my Extra Spinal class. I have also taken Full Spine II, III, & X-ray Analysis II with Dr. Fehl. The Extra Spinal class covers how to adjust extremities. Although the subject matter is not all that interesting to me (go figure, I'm a C1/C2 girl), Dr. Fehl keeps this 8 am class moving at a pretty fast pace. Dr. Fehl has a way to make a dreadful 8 am hour into a great time of conversation about our profession. And to his acclaim, he's open-minded about all types of techniques...if they're getting results.

It's nice to sit in a professors class, who uses a different technique than the one I want to pursue, and not feel judged. And to top that off, he likes to make fun of himself. Again, it's nice to have a professor who you can openly laugh at/with.

So kudos to you, Dr. Fehl. Thanks for the jokes, the sarcasm, and for caring so much about your students. Your empathy is apparent...and very appreciated!!

A Note to Mr. Tomasi

Dr_james If you read a couple of the comments on some of my posts, you'll notice some encouragement from Mr. James Tomasi. I'm humbled by his sweet words and time dedicated to motivating students. In reply, here's a note to Mr. Tomasi:

Thank you for your kind words, Mr. Tomasi. Your story is inspiring, and encourages students who are sweating through the course load at school.

I'm humbled by your ability to dedicate yourself to a cause you feel will change the world. Students need your type of guidance. Sometimes I feel that students lack dedication to a cause. This may possibly be because they lack a direction in our field. Not till recently (about 3 months ago) did I even feel focused on a direction. School can (for lack of a better expression) suck the life out of you. My passion kinda fizzled over the first 2 years. Now that I have "discovered" the life-changing work of upper cervical specific care, my future in chiropractic has taken a 180. I SEE a future in this field, whereas I couldn't even imagine a picture of my practice previously.

People, like you and Mrs. Tomasi, are the light that keeps us going. Thank you for dedicating your lives to spreading the word on upper cervical. I love to see people taking on their calling. You're awesome!

And for anyone interested in getting to know more about what James and Rhonda Tomasi have done for chiropractic, check out their website: Upper Cervical Advocates.

See you at Lyceum!!

Carowinds!

What's great about Sherman's location??? It's close to a lot of big cities, including Charlotte, NC. At the beginning of May, a bunch of our quarter went to Carowinds. We had a great time. It's awesome to have such things at our access, but be able to leave and live in a quiet area.

Matthews_1st_ride  And Check out Matthew's 1st ride on a rollercoaster. I was SO proud of him. He took on The Vortex, which is a level 5 rollercoaster (the highest level in the park). Not to mention, we rode on the front row. Like I said, I was very proud of my buddy.

We Did It!

Our class did it! We are officially in the health center as interns. It's an awesome feeling. As part of this process, new interns are "pinned" at the quarterly Bagel Fest. Here is my big moment:     Me

Here is our class picture:

Group_3

From L-R is Erik, me, Big Mo, Kevin, Bethaney, Qunna, Mo, Jason, Elizabeth, Mandy, Jared, and Joe.

I love this crew. I'm so happy to be with this group entering clinic. It's an awesome time in our lives, and I wouldn't want to share it with anyone else. :) (now everyone say "awh")
