This month, it was suggested that we blog about our favorite faculty member here at Sherman College. I have found this very difficult to do, which is part of the reason it is coming so late in the month. The thing that makes this so hard is the simple fact that we have such a great group of faculty members here. This makes it very difficult to choose just one absolute favorite. I guess if I really had to choose, I would say that one of my favorite faculty members here at Sherman is Dr. Stephanie Johnson. Dr. Johnson not only teaches a couple of the clinic related classes that we have as we progress through our education, but she is also one of the doctors working on the floor of the Health Center to help us improve our skills and take care of our patients in the best way possible. This is where I have found Dr. Johnson to be absolutely outstanding. She has been the case doctor for a couple of my patients in the Health Center and the experience has been extremely valuable for me. There have been a couple of times thus far when I feel that I have been very lucky to have her there to help me out. I am still only a student and do not have the necessary experience to deal with every situation and case that comes my way completely on my own. Dr. Johnson has been very patient with me all along the way. Her office door is always open and she never seems to be bothered by any question I have whether I am on the Health Center floor or wandering into her office at some random point throughout the day. I have found Dr. Johnson to be someone with whom I am very comfortable going to with any question or concern I might have which is extremely important, especially now that I am working one on one with patients. Thank you Dr. Johnson for all that you do!!!

I typed in "Going back to Spartanburg" into Google and your page came up. I knew a lot of the Sherman guys and gals back in the late 70's, before Sherman even had a permanent campus. One of the facualty members Dr. Les Wise may still even be there, though as old as he must be by now, he should have retired years ago.
My internist that I see for my diabtes, Dr. Gal Margalit is in practice with a group of chiropractors at Advantage Health Care on Reidville Road (or John B. White, Sr. Blvd., whichever....)
I was just told at the emergency room tonight that I am going to lose a few toes and possibly an entire foot, due to diabetic ulcers, so I'm having a somewhat sleepless night. I like both of my feet , and all of my toes, and dammit it all, I want to keep all of them.
Drop a line sometime . It would be nice to hear from a happy person!
