Heavy Bags

I thought I would blog about a recent article I read in the latest edition of the Oprah magazine. The topic was women and the bags they carry and how their choices in bags could result in spine problems. The chiropractor that researched this topic claims that a women's purse should weigh no more than 10 percent of her body weight. She offered several bags, in various price ranges, that were evenly proportioned and therefore easier on the spine and nervous system. I know that my bags are always so heavy however I continue to carry them not thinking of the damage I am doing to my body. Especially as a chiropractic student, I will have to be more aware of simple, everyday things like the handbag that I am carrying. I suggest you get your hands on this article so you too can contribute to the health of your spine.
