Those who know me will tell you that I am happiest when I am in nature wetting a hook or waiting for the sun to rise over the duck blind. I have had some pretty good fish stories come my way before, but this video makes me think that my most "honest" fishing buddies couldn't have twisted a story enough to beat this outing...if I hadn't seen the video with my own eyes, I would never believe it - I just wish that I knew where these guys were fishing!
Once again - I am a little late with posting my pictures.
My wife and I had the opportunity to head down to Charleston with a good friend and classmate of mine and his better half - Josh and Stacy Darrah. Somehow, I let them talk us into a 10K bridge run. We did start out running, but pretty much walked at a brisk pace for most of the race - we finished in under two hours, while getting to do some people watching that turned out to be quite interesting. We crashed pretty hard in Edisto after the race and had no problem getting up an appetite to dig into some meaty ribs off the grill...mmmmm.
Next Year, I'm aiming to finish in much less time - but will need to start training a little earlier...
It has been kind of crazy this past month...rushing around trying to get patients and keep up with assignments, as well as bank enough clinic hours to stay on track for the quarter. We have Lyceum coming up and that cuts into our available hours as the Health Center is going to be closed for a few days during all the festivities.
I have been promising to post the pics of a recent canoe trip on the Edisto River...so a bit of setup: We paddled in about 13 miles, stayed in a treehouse overnight and paddled out another 10 miles or so the next day. Didn't catch a fish, but got quite the workout. All in all, I would have to say it was a trip with a cool factor of 9. If the rains and cold weather would have stayed away and the fish would have been biting - it would be a 10, though! It was all about friendship and celebrating another birthday with a good buddy - HAPPY BDAY CHRIS.
and now the pics....................
I have to get one of these "treehouses" - on an island in the middle of nowhere...perfect.
